Etherow Enterprise Open 2011

There was a great entry with 9 visitors and 6 of our own teams taking part. This was most encouraging and there was plenty of challenge because of the depth of experience among the visitors.

Turnout might also have been boosted by the on-goong incentive from the Enterprise Association that every entry in an Open event during the year gives a 'ticket' to Association members to win a brand new boat built to the recently-announced self-draining design. One of our visitors might have appreciated such a craft when an rather over-enthusiastic roll-tack took him out of the third race.

The wind was unfortunately from the south and that produced a pattern of swirls and vortexes that frustrated many visitors, but was familiar to our club - indeed it is the reason why our lake is such a good training area.
