The Club Today
Etherow Country Park Sailing Club (E.C.P.S.C.), situated in Etherow Country Park, is medium sized with recently renovated facilities, and is fully wheelchair friendly.E.C.P.S.C. has a small, but challenging five acres of water, and sails mostly (but not exclusively) Topper, Laser and Enterprise Dinghies.
The membership of the sailing club is wide and encompasses members from the whole community; the club has a policy of making sailing accessible to all, irrespective of their personal circumstances.
Junior members are well catered for, with regular junior sailing events, such as the Junior Open Meetings, and with a welcoming and friendly group of junior members - spurred on by regular, family friendly, social events.
Groups Associated With Etherow Country Park Sailing Club
Located in the heart of the beautiful Etherow Country Park, our sailing club plays a large role in the community associated with the park.Etherow Model Boat Club is strongly linked with the sailing club, we share our excellent and cared for facilities with the model boat club and work closely with the model boat club, with regular joint social events.
Stockport Alzheimer's Society regularly use the facilities at Etherow in order to carry out their important work within the community.
Many other groups are also involved with the sailing club, and the club is happy to share its facilities with as many as possible in our community.
Etherow Future
Etherow Country Park Sailing Club plans to have a long and successful future, and will continue to work hard at improving its facilities and catering for its members and the local community.As the only sailing club in Stockport, we feel it is important to make sailing as accessible as possible to the whole spectrum of the community.
